DESCRIPTION

The Corporate Giving/Special Events Director provides corporations with opportunities to demonstrate their values by aligning with Empath Health and its affiliates through sponsorships, events and partnerships.   In this role, the Director supervises the planning, implementation and evaluation of all Empath Health events including volunteer support and participation.    

 

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
  1. Bachelors Degree required; Masters and/or CFRE preferred
  2. Excellent interpersonal communication, both oral and written, required
  3. Excellent organizational skills required
  4. Fundraising experience required and related work experience, including supervision of staff, working with volunteers and leading committees   
  5. Experience and proficiency with The Raiser’s Edge and all Microsoft systems including Excel, Power Point, and Outlook
  6. Ability to create and write proposals, presentations and donor materials
  7. Requires ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize assignments
  8. Commitment to the ideals and mission of Suncoast Hospice and its affiliate programs 
ESSENTIAL TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Cultivate, solicit, steward and manage sponsorships for all Suncoast Hospice Foundation and Empath affiliate events 
  2. Develop a diverse calendar of Special Events, providing leadership to staff and volunteer committees
  3. Work with each event committee to assure success of event and compliance with special events policy and build committees of community members and corporate members to strengthen the events and reach their goals
  4. Participate as an active team member within the Foundation as well as work with other departments as needed (i.e. - work with Marketing Communications to coordinate all marketing materials in a timely manner and with Volunteer Services for volunteer needs)
  5. Participate in public relations as necessary
  6. Create comprehensive sponsorship program of work with benefits and donor recognition for all programs, including Choices for Care, PACE, ASAP and all Empath affiliates
  7. Work with corporate partners to provide opportunities for corporate employee giving, being the main point of contact with HR departments and other corporate leaders
  8. Maintain close relationships with special constituency groups such as funeral homes, nursing homes, retirement homes and other special groups acting as primary point of contact 
  9. Successfully implement Empath vendor campaign, integrating with annual campaign with strategies tailored for specific vendors 
  10. Work with corporate partners to implement community giving events
  11. Seek contributions of retail items for all resale shops from corporations 
  12. Seek in-kind contributions for normal and customary budgeted expenses
  13. Create a corporate sponsorship committee to assist in corporate efforts
  14. Develop stewardship opportunities for corporate gifts
  15. Develop county-wide corporate point of sale opportunities with major corporations
  16. Maintain a general knowledge of organizational affiliates, departments and/or individuals in order to develop sponsorship proposals which benefit various programs.  At times, new opportunities may be created in order to meet donor criteria 
  17. Other duties as assigned
