Billing Address Contacts

I apologize if these have been asked before, but I couldn't seem to find anything.  I have two questions I'm hoping someone can help with.



1) I'm wondering if there's a way to add a contact name to the billing address when someone registers as an organization, or at least add an organization name as a field to the billing address when someone registers as an individual. I know it considers the first registrant as the contact when an organization registers but this is confusing for contacts who don't know this in advance. Also we sometimes have instances where the billing contact would not be attending the event themselves, but rather is registering a number of others from their office. (i.e., an assistant or finance person registering our leadership team.)



2) Is there a way to add the billing address information in the merge of the thank you email? It doesn't look like it's a field available for merging but maybe I've missed something?

    Thanks for reaching out via the Community! These are definitely really good questions that I'm sure others have run into before. My answers and ideas are numbered like your questions:



    1) Is there a way to add contact name to the billing address?
    • At this time, we cannot edit which fields appear in the billing address. As you mentioned, Online Express will consider the first registrant as the contact and will add that person as an Individual Relationship for the Organization that is also marked as a Contact. One idea for a workaround would be to edit the "Register as an organization" checkbox text to include a note. This can be done on the Fine Tuning tab under the Form elements section. You could edit that to say something concise, like "Register as an organization. NOTE: Please enter individual contact information in the Registrant section". However, that person would be included as a Guest on your event. You can also add an attribute to the form to further define the Individual. Another option would be to add a note to the top of your webpage where you embed the form with more specific instructions to email your organization additional information, or how to fill out the form.
    • Most importantly, I would add this as a suggestion to our Product Ideas section in the Online Express Community, and please return to comment on this post so we can upvote it!

    2) Is there a way to add the Billing address to the confirmation email?
    • This is not an available merge field for the Thank You emails. Again, I'd recommend adding this to our Product Ideas and letting us know so we can upvote it.
