OCC Online Reenrollment - electronic signature or "print and sign"?

Options
Hello! Our school is launching OCC online re-enrollment for the first time this year. We would like input from schools that do online re-enrollment:

1) Does your online re-enrollment process include an online contract (e.g. tuition agreement)?

2) How do parents/guardians SIGN the contract? (is it electronic or "print and sign")

3) Where in OCC or EE do you store and "see" the electronic signature? (how do you know when someone has actually electronically signed the contract?)

I sincerely appreciate your input.

Thanks,

Angela May

  • Hi Angela. We are in a similar situation. I don't know where you are with this, but I'd like to talk with you about how you have decided to implement this so far.

"Best Practices" on this topic seem difficult to come by.

    Thank you,

  • Can you please explain to me exactly how it is that digital signatures work?
  • We just have a last step on the form, asking for the parent's name and we add that to the attributed generated when the form is completed and we call that the digital signature. They've already logged in to the website so we know who they are, this is just a cosmetic step. We don't use a formal "digital signature" per se.
  • We went through our first year of ORE this year and we have an electronic signature waiver as the first step of our online reenrollment form. It basically states that by typing in your full name when submitting forms on our site, you are agreeing that it is the equivalent as a wet signature on paper. We went to our legal counsel for the exact wording. Our Electronic Signature is literally a text field at the bottom of the online contract that is required before submission.

The entire completed contract is stored in the Forms section in BBNC/OCC; we do not move the signature back into EE.
