Higher Education Department "Wish List" donation page

Options
We are a higher education institution and would like set up a "wish list" donation page for our individual departments so that donors and pick from items they want to support or "buy" for the department. How would be the best way to do this in NetCommunity and Raiser's Edge?

  • If you have several options from which they can choose, each of those is a Fund record in RE, and then a designation option on the donation form.

We ran into an issue where we sell sponsorships of seats in two of our theatres, but they are for fixed amounts. It didn't make sense to have those as options on a general donation form, since theoretically someone could pick "$20" and "Dome Theatre Seat", when they should be $1000.

I therefore removed those options and instead created links to them as separate donation forms in the FTI part above the donation form. You can see it in action here:

That form is just for "Area of Greatest Need", but if we had more options, they would appear as another drop-down.
  • Hey Rhonda,

Do you have Events in The Raiser's Edge? If so, this would be best as an event I think. It sounds like you're selling "items" in a way. So they buy "a new projector for the math department" or something. That sounds like it'd work best as an event to me. I say this because the giving levels on donation forms don't come into The Raiser's Edge, so depending on exactly what you want to do you may lose valuable data if it's set up through a donation form.

    Thanks!

    Karen
