BBMS Issue

Options
Hi,

Is anyone else having an issue with BBMS: The donor's credit card statement listing BB *NONPROFIT(pending) in the credit card statement descriptor for pending transactions"?

If so, how are you dealing with this and how much of an issue is it causing you and your donors?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

  • Hey Michelle,

We're mostly BBNC experts on this form, so you may not get good BBMS information. I recommend creating a case with BBMS support to see if it's possible to set what shows on the statements.

    Thanks!

  • This is what is called a temporary Soft ACH descriptor that some banks will post to the cardholder’s account until the debit hard posts. This is extremely common with transactions of all kinds today.

Unfortunately, we cannot control how long a bank will post the soft descriptor. And some banks handle this on different time frames. It is generally less than 12 hours and frequently much shorter as banks will generally hard post at 10am, 2pm, 5pm and midnight.

Once the debit hard posts the soft descriptor will change to whatever is listed in your BBMS web portal statement descriptor section. You can set and change that at any time.

Some customers have added text to their confirmation page and email that notes something like: "This transaction may temporarily appear as 'BB *NONPROFIT(pending)' on your bank statement."

Thanks for replying Steve. It's helpful to understand this issue a little more.
