My merchant account mistake

I've just discovered that some payment gateways aren't supported in BBNC & BBIS for particular currencies - which has forced me to cancel accounts and switch.



For example, IP Payments (who are very cheap) operate in the UK. But BBNC/BBIS doesn't support payments to them in UK pounds. It's a similar story with Authorize.net.



I only made this discovery after setting up an account with a gateway and starting to pay them. I thought I'd warn you so you can avoid similar problems.

  • We provide SmartPAYMENTs which interfaces other providers to BBNC/BBIS. Maybe it could help - get in touch if you want to find out more.
  • That's interesting Warren. We're using Payment 2.0 parts to outsource our PCi compliance. That means Blackbaud's Payment Servers need to interact with the payment gateways.



    Does SmartPAYMENTS work in that context?

  • Indeed same principle. We use the payment provider pages to do the PCI compliant work but NetCommunity fits around that so gets all the information it needs. Easier to demonstrate I suspect.
