How do you handle donors from outside of the USA that want to setup a monthly recurring gift - when the zip code begins with zeros?

Options
When a donor makes a online recurring gift the donation form requires that the donor provide a complete mailing address - including a zip code. The system correctly takes in zip codes that begin with a zero, however the leading zero(s) are drop when the data is transmitted to BB Payment Services. Are there settings in BBNC that need to be adjusted for foreign addresses to prevent this? (The card will be declined for not matching the donor's billing address).

  • Hey Mike,

This is controlled by the default address block in The Raiser's Edge. Please follow the steps below.

    1. Log into The Raiser's Edge.

    2. Select Config, International.

    3. Open the country users are having trouble with.

    4. Confirm the ISO is correct, and if it isn't change it. (You can google this)

    5. In the drop down for the default address block pick the country that's closest, but don't pick US.

    6. Do not change any of the individual address fields under that. NetCommunity doesn't look there.

    7. Save the international record.

    Thanks!

    Karen
