  • Is it from the donor advising it or from someone else?

Generally I'd think no different than any other gift, except the Fund record you use should ideally have a fund Relationships to the constituent record of the person advising the fund.

You may also have some Action records that need to be created as a result for any special notifications that need to go out.
  • Hi Peter,

I'm dealing with (I think) the same question. My question is, when a gift comes in from say Mr. and Mrs. Smith Family Fund. The check is written on a community foundation check at the request of Mr. and Mrs. Smith -- question is who is the constituent? Shouldn't it be Mr. and Mrs. Smith? I am being instructed to credit the gift to the Foundation and give a soft credit to Mr. and Mrs. Smith, but to me, this just doesn't seem correct. Your thoughts?
