Why are email images being changed from http:// to https:// and is there a way to stop it?

Options
When an email is sent, we're finding that the links for .jpgs are being changed from http:// to https://. With Gmail's new image download process this is causing a problem for our servers. It doesn't seem to happen to .png images.

Does anyone know why this is happening and if there's a setting that can be changed to stop it?

  • Hey Kimbre,

We've not seen HTTPS cause issues with gmail's new image thing. I can't speak for your email servers though. Because of this I think the cause for what you're seeing is different than that, and we want to focus on your symptoms instead of the answer at first. That's the most efficient way to get your question answered. Also I think this will be better handled through a case, so I would encourage you to create one with us. http://www.blackbaud.com/support/

    Thanks!
