Status automatically marked paid for all event registrations even for free events

We have a free event set up in RE and have pre-populated the status and the participation for quick review during event management, When someone registers through BBNC it automatically adds paid in the status. My first issue with this is that it is a free event so no one pays. My second issue is that we already prepopulated fields that are getting written over.



I contacted support (case#12053469) and was told this is the default process. This really needs to have some options during the set-up process because we are losing information we already added to the event. There needs to be more flexibilty with the status field.
