Running API code in another application

We are in the testing phase of the upgrade to our membership system. I have developed links to Raiser's Edge using the Blackbaud APIs. When I try to run the linking code I get an error "Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {0C1FBCA5-3961-11D3-BD75-00E0290E1347} failed due to the following error: 80040154 Class not registered (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8". The Blackbaud knowledgebase tells me I need to recomplie using the x86 setting. When I do this the membership application won't even load.



Any suggestions?
