BBMS Automatic Recurring Payment Processing

Why does BBMS not autoprocess recurring payments? Currently, our contributions manager has to manually process those payments daily. If someone requests a recurring payment on the 25th of each month and our CM is out of the office on the 25th - those payments do not get processed. That should be an automatic process. Please tell me that we are simply missing how to do this and not that it is unavailable.

I am going to change this topic to an idea that NetCommunity handles this in the future instead of The Raiser's Edge, and that it's automatic.

We are about to start using BBIS/CRM to collect recurring payments. Do you know if the recurring payments generated from BBIS are auto processed or does it currently require a manual process like mentioned above?

In both cases, processing of ongoing recurring payments are handled by the back office systems.

There's some good info on setting up RE to auto-generate payments, as well as other, informative links bout Recurring Giving programs in general. The RE team Karen mentioned would be great to help answer questions in that arena.

Please, please make it so that BBNC can do the charge! Everyone gets paid at different times and has a preference for when their recurring gift should be charged. It would be so much more donor-centric to allow the charge to take place on a day of their choosing. And while you're at it, allow them the ability to update their credit card information - number, expiration date, amount of gift, etc.



Convio did this. Sphere did this. You know own both of them, but could not make your own product do it? It's just really disappointing.

I agree! We completely messed up our first recurring gift, because I thought that when a donor signed up for recurring gifts, the gift would be handled automatically. It seems like it should be an automatic process. I hope you can add this functionality in the future!
