Using Attributes for Email Subscription Types

I'd like to add some new attributes to use as email subscription options for our constituents to select from on NetCommunity. We send out 4 different categories of emails. On the email preferences page, I would like to have 4 different checkboxes for each category, while leaving the 5th option as "subsubscribe from all."



I'm assuming I should use yes/no attribute types, but I want the default to be "yes." I also would like these 4 attributes to be on all records, including all records created moving forward. Is there any way to set the default of a yes/no attribute and automatically add the attributes to every record when it is created?



I can't seem to figure this out. Help would be appreciated. Thanks!
