How can we interpret the URL tracking data added to NetCommunity webpage links?

Options
When an email is sent through NetCommunity, links to a NetCommunity web page the URL created adds tracking data:

DonationForm&srcid=[source ID]&srctid=[source type ID]&erid=[email recipient ID]&efndnum=[email finder number]&trid=[tracking ID]

Questions:

1) Where does the [source ID] come from? And why doesn't it show up in our web page URLs in Google Analytics?

2) Is there a list of [source type ID]s? If the URL created has "srctid=1" how do we find out what that means?

3) The [email recipient ID] clearly must be tied to a Raiser's Edge ID, but it is not the same as the RE ID. Can we track the erid back to RE somehow?

4) Where does the [tracking ID] come from? How do we interpret that tracking ID? What is it tracking? What use is it to us?

  • Hi Kimbere,

I have been wondering the same thing & am very interested to see if anyone can answer it for us.

In the mean time - for my clients that are looking for tracking capabilities in their emails, we use UTM tracking & that shows up in Google analytics. It can be simple or you can really get into deep analytics, it's up to you.

Here's a good reference page to start you off: https://support.google.com/analytics/...

    Hope this helps!
