Regrets Option on Event Registration

We have recently run into an issue where people would like to RSVP "Regrets" online. While that functionality is present in RE it doesn't seem to be in BBNC. What have others used to get around this issue?

Could you make a "ticket" option of $0 called "regrets"? Unfortunately that means they would still need to fill in the form. Otherwise you could in a text part have an "email us your regrets" button with a pre-filled subject line.

That was my first thought too but then it would "register" them for the event. I think we are going to try the text part first and see how that works for us.
