Streamlining Event information input

Options
Online Express - Event Form - Is there a way to include Event Preferences with each Registrant name so that they are not having to scroll down to 2 different sets of information for each registrant? Also, is there a way to include a Comments box on a Event Page to provide information that we will need to complete reservations

Hi Terry. We did an extensive amount of user testing when we created the registration experience for events. In one of the original prototypes we tested, the event preferences section was in-line with each registrant's bio info. Surprisingly, we consistently found that it became a source of confusion! Once we dug into the issue it started to make sense. Registrants were on "metal autopilot" when they fill out their personal/bio information; we don't have to think much about what our name and address is. When they got to the preferences section, they had to stop and consider their decision (do I want chicken for dinner, or steak?) - then they had to go back to "autopilot" mode for the next registrant. When we switched the order to how you see it today, users completed the registration more quickly and with less confusion.

As for the comments section, that option is currently not available for event registration. What type of information were you hoping to collect with the comments box?
  • Hi Matthew,

If my event does not require anyone to enter a preference, is there a way that I can remove that field entirely?

    Thanks!

For collecting additional information I would suggest using Participant Attributes. You can set them up with a text field or a drop down menu. These should import right into the participant record--although I have not used it yet so I am guessing. That's how it should work!
