Is it possible to change the monthly gift processed message?

When someone ticks 'Make this a monthly gift' it says something like 'Gifts are processed on day 3 of the month. Your first gift of £25 will occur on 03/02/2015.' but we can't guarantee this will happen as it currently takes us one/two weeks. Is it therefore possible to adjust this message? Thanks, Rob

    The recurring language is fixed based on your selections in the donation form setup. Either a specific day each month, or the of the month.



    I would recommend trying to process those gifts as consistently as possible; some donors will be annoyed if the recurrence isn't on a consistent and well defined schedule. A day off here and there probably isn't a big deal, but being weeks off from month to month isn't optimal.



    That said, if other customers have this same concern be sure to +1 this submission. It's something we could consider in the future.

    Perhaps the logic could include 'admin time' so if someone gives a donation say 7 days before it leaps a month.

    My issue is the same but this answer doesn't really help my situation.  I am entering pledges now for 2017, but payments won't be deducted until 1/20/17. As of now, it says they will start 6/20/16 which is wrong, obviously.  We need to be able to change this date.

    We too would like the option to either turn off that Gifts are processed on day 3 of the month. Your first gift of £25 will occur on 03/02/2015.' message, or customize it.

  • I'm fairly certain that when we first went to OLX in Sep 2014, I was able to edit that label and say "on or around the 10th of the month" which meant if the 10th fell on a weekend, holiday, or PTO day (I'm the sole person doing any sort of data work in RE at my org), it would be quite acceptable to process on the 9th or 11th, or even the 8th or 12th.


    I'm working on a plan to send an email alert to our recurring donors a little bit in advance to alert them to the actual day I plan to run the charges.  Maybe that would help some of you...in your OLX confirmation email, add text that states that an email will be sent on the 1st of each month stating the actual date the charge will be made?  So that now, in July, you set up and schedule (for Aug 1) that email in OLX, and then put on your calendar a reminder to actually initiate those charges.  Then, if you need to adjust the date at all, you can let your recurring donors know.  And, it's another chance to thank them for their support.

    It would be nice to be able to edit this field. Our form says "processed on the 1st of each month", but depending on holidays (like the 4th of July this past month), it can actually take until the 4th or 5th to process at the bank. More of an issue for us is the absence of language if the donor does NOT click the "monthly gift" button but still selects ACH processing for a one-time gift. If they make their gift on the 3rd of August, that ACH transaction will not be pulled until our bi-monthly run on August 15th.

  • This simply needs to be an editable field.  We need more control on how we accept gifts and we need to improve the way we are able to communicate with our consituents on how gifts will be processed.

    I totally get having to move it a day, but I have always erred on the side of after the date and not before.  Your donor may plan their acccount activity and an early withdrawl could pose an issue.

  • Thank you for the email suggestion.  But that
    is extra unnecessary work when enabling us to modify our giving
    page would simply solve the problem without having to send an email
    every month.Good luck!
