Can Online Express use a third party payment gateway such as Cybersource or Authorize.net instead of BBMS?

I was just wondering if there is a way to use a third party payment gateway if we desired to use our own payment processor? I know RE gives some ability to do that, but I didn't know if BBOX can as well? If so, how is that set up? And can Authorize.net or Cyber Source be used?

Hi Lars. Blackbaud Online Express only uses Blackbaud Merchant Services to process payments.

I would also like to add a 3rd party gateway like Beanstream. I am currently using BBNC and it is too difficult to use and would like to switch to Online Express but want to keep Beanstream as my gateway.

Hi Rosie. Currently Blackbaud Online Express supports BBMS to process payments. There are no immediate plans to support third party payment services.

BBMS was one of the best moves we made. Gift processing is made so much easier. Also in the works with RE you will be able to reconcile your transactions right in the database.

Is this still true?  I've received calls from Sekure and they claim that Cybersource now works with The Raiser's Edge.  Also, does Cybersource also process direct debits, or would those still go through BBMS?

Hey Rick.  You can use other gateways with Raiser's Edge (for example if you're using the EFT module to process recurring gifts), but Online Express donation forms only use BBMS a this time.
