Donors are making payments to pledges on line. When the batch is created, the gift gets recorded as cash not pay cash. This is leaving constituents with incorrect pledge balances. Is there an easy solution?

    Hi Joanne. Payments toward a pledge are not currently supported in Online Express. This would require the user to somehow authenticate (username and password, traditionally) and then apply a payment toward an existing pledge.

    What we have learned from this is to check each online gift as it comes in to see if that constituent has an outstanding pledge and go from there. We "assume" (perhaps dangerously!) that if a person has a $500.00 pledge out to the annual fund and makes a $100.00 on line gift to the annual fund, that their intent is to make that a pledge payment. We just have to be careful.
