Can we shorten up the donation form?

Options
The online donation form is quite long - and looks intimidating to our users. Is there a way to break this up? Ideally they would initially only see the Designation & Donation section; once they've completed that, they would then see billing address, followed by payment details.

Hi Sarah, good question. In general, a single step donation form performs better than a multi-step form. That said, there are cases where a clever multi-step form can perform very well. A stepped form is something we could consider in the future as an optional display mode.

For what it's worth; one of the easiest ways to improve your conversion rates is to ask for only the bare minimum amount of information from a donor. Every field that is added (even optional fields) will make the form longer and users will perceive it to be more difficult to complete. Because of this, on average extra fields result in lower conversions. If you have any optional fields or attributes today, consider the measurable financial value they bring to your organization and try testing without the fields to measure for changes.
