Don't understand Magic Links

Options
Is it just me--I don't get the Magic Links capability. It allows you to pre-select gift amounts. But don't we already have that option is setting the pre-selected amount?

Hey Patty. Yes, you can set up a default gift amount for your form without magic links. The purpose of this particular feature in magic links is to be able to set the default gift amount for different links, but using the same form. Consider an example where you have an email segment that goes to donors that have potential to make a large gift, you could include a link that selects a large gift amount. You could send to another segment that is your average donor and select a more modest gift amount.

We like magic links because it lets us support more specialized cases in the product without adding complexity to the setup process. I expect we will add more features to magic links over time. If you have any ideas for something to add to magic links let us know!
  • Ok, I get it now. But is there a way to add the magic link to the Donate button in a message? I can't add it to the end of the "Select a Donation page to link to" option.

Hey Patty, not yet - but this is something on our radar for sure. For now, you could include text links or links on images to include your magic link URLs.
