So you have BBMS and Luminate Online and you want to whitelist an IP address?

Options
Hey Community,

I'm a support analyst with Luminate Online and would like to talk about what to do if you want to have an IP whitelisted for a specific event.

If you are planning on doing some sort of event where you are entering a lot of donations on site, you may want to whitelist that IP address beforehand as to not accidentally get blacklisted.

This can happen if a card gets declined a few times (usually 5 times). When this happens, all transactions made through that IP address will fail. This IP will be blocked for 60 minutes from the last declined attempt (the time limit will reset for every attempt after the block is in place).

This can cause a lot of problems when you are on site and people are wanting to make donations!

In order to midigate this from happening, please give us a call in LO support and ask for the IP to be whitelisted.

**Also, if you have BBMS, you will need to reach out to them as well to get the IP whitelisted on their end. They have settings that will also blacklist an IP for declined attempts.

If you get the IP whitelisted in LO and in BBMS, you should not have any problems with getting blacklisted. If you only want this whitelist to be temporary (say for a weekend), make sure to let us know and follow up when you would like us to remove it.

I know a lot of you guys have already been around the block and have done this before, but thought it would be a good reminder.

Have a Good One!

Taylor
