Summary and Duties:

Under the direction of the Director of Development, this position promotes awareness of the Galveston Bay Foundation and connects the organization with constituents through communications, marketing, and public and media relations. The position also supports the development and program staff in creating effective communication tools for fund development, events, and programs. The ideal candidate will be a creative communications professional who enjoys working closely with a team and is passionate about the Galveston Bay Foundation mission. The Communications and Marketing Coordinator will:

 Develop, implement, and evaluate the annual Communications and Marketing Plan

 Craft, implement, and maintain quality control of the organization’s key message and image

 Lead the generation of online content that engages audience segments and leads to measurable action

 Put communications vehicles in place to create momentum and awareness as well as to test the effectiveness of communications activities

 Manage the development, distribution, and maintenance of all print and electronic materials including, but not limited to, newsletters, brochures, and website

 Develop social media strategy, manage multiple platforms, and create content in collaboration with program staff

 Coordinate webpage maintenance–ensure that new and consistent information (article links, stories, and events) is   posted regularly

 Track and measure the level of engagement over time

 Manage all media contacts and respond to media requests and track media exposure

 Oversee the work of a part-time Marketing and Digital Media Intern
