Make-A-Wish Illinois is currently searching for a Donor Services Coordinator whose primary role is gift processing.



Job Summary: Codes, enters, and tracks monetary gifts in the Foundation’s database. Processes donor acknowledgments.  Maintains accuracy and consistency of Foundation’s gift and constituent data. 

 

Major Responsibilities:
  • Processes monetary contributions, including pledges and payments from Make-A-Wish America, and constituent and gift record entry into database including matching gift, soft credits, and tribute gift data.
  • Maintains integrity of information in database through cross-referencing and data checking
  • Processes Kintera, Events.org, and Snap transactions for bi-monthly reconciliation
  • Reallocates on-line donations as per instructed by Development team.
  • Generates weekly acknowledgment letters & postcard labels though Raiser’s Edge
  • Runs monthly acknowledgment letters for in-kind donors
  • Responds to donor inquiries and contact donors as needed
  • Produces annual donor statements and major gift donor invoices
  • Works with Accounting and Development staff to ensure completeness and accuracy of gift data
  • Provides support and instructs staff on the use of the database
  • Processes all returned mail to the Foundation
  • Maintains and updates Donor Services Manual
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned
 

Preferred Skills & Abilities:
  • Proficiency with database programs -- knowledge of Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge required
  • Highly skilled with all components of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Well organized and detail-oriented
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong initiative and customer service-oriented
 

Preferred Education & Experience:
  • 1-3 years related experience
  • Bachelors degree
