Position Overview

The Digital Marketing Manager oversees a variety of online initiatives, including but not limited to website maintenance, email marketing and online fundraising. This individual is responsible for maintaining the PBTF’s online presence, including its websites, email marketing tools, donor communications, event fundraising tools and peer-to-peer fundraising pages. The Digital Marketing Manager works closely with many departments within the organization as the digital partner on a variety of initiatives. This is a full-time position based either at our headquarters in Asheville, N.C., or offsite. It reports to the Vice President of Marketing and Communications.



Key Responsibilities



General

• Implement the PBTF’s annual communications plan across our varied audiences, in collaboration with the PBTF team and constituents, to support the delivery of online marketing and fundraising initiatives for new and existing programs

• Troubleshoot all issues with software for content management, email marketing and online fundraising

• Manage relationships with vendors, including software companies and online service providers

• Support the PBTF’s communication goals by staying current on innovations and best practices as they relate to web development, online fundraising and online marketing

• Ensure the PBTF’s visual identity and web development standards are adhered to in all online initiatives

• Provide senior management with monthly updates on key metrics including site traffic, growth and profile of the email file, fundraising success rate and other online activity

• Participate actively in quality assurance testing of online solutions

• Other duties as assigned



Manage online fundraising activity

• Create and maintain online fundraising solutions and online receipt management

• Manage the logistical deployment of all event fundraising pages, peer-to-peer fundraising pages, and associated donor communications

• Assist campaign managers in providing direct end-user support to fundraisers

• Continually review individual event fundraising sites to ensure they are working properly in accordance with PBTF program standards

• Assist in the development and management of national signature fundraising events

• Manage all Luminate Online systems including C360, TeamRaiser, Donations, Reporting and Data Management; create Pagebuilder and CMS elements as needed

• Act as in-house site administrator to provide top level support to fundraisers, donors and staff



Update and maintain websites and content management system

• Work with the Communications Specialist to ensure that website, email and enewsletter content is accurate and updated in a timely manner

• Use Google Analytics and SEO/SEM campaigns to improve website traffic

• Integrate social media into websites and enewsletters

• Provide regular reports to Vice President of Marketing and Communications on website traffic and other metrics

• Edit and upload photos to content management system; maintain online image libraries

• Ensure that all content is correctly coded and displays as scheduled

• Post press releases, news items and post-event updates; revise content as directed



Manage email marketing programs

• Manage the logistical deployment of all online collateral, including but not limited to enewsletters, email and event communication

• Work with the Communications Specialist to ensure that email and enewsletter content is accurate and that emails are delivered on schedule according to the editorial calendar

• Create Luminate queries and tasks as needed to manage contact groups



Train staff, volunteers and other end-users

• Develop and maintain documentation for training manuals, webinars and business processes as they relate to online marketing and fundraising solutions

• Conduct training sessions and provide ongoing functional guidance to staff and volunteers in support of the online marketing and fundraising solutions



Qualifications

• Advanced HTML skills essential; CSS, Flash and Photoshop an asset

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience with online data collection, analysis and report development

• Experience with online giving and an understanding of how online content, communications and appeals drive fundraising results

• Customer focus to interact with staff, donors, volunteers and members of the general public (includes systems training, presentation delivery and technical translation)

• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment; self-starter with hands-on approach

• Willing to learn new systems and technologies



Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent proven experience in communications, marketing and/or online marketing

• Minimum 3 to 5 years of website development and online marketing experience, including the development of online marketing and fundraising solutions, execution of email marketing campaigns, SEO/SEM campaigns, Google Analytics and social media

• Experience with online fundraising platforms, content management systems and database management (Blackbaud Luminate Online and TeamRaiser strongly preferred)

• Excellent organizational, project management, time management and written communication skills

• Occasional national travel, at times extending to consecutive nights away, overlapping holidays and weekends

• Occasional weekend work
