Congregation B’nai Israel, a Reform Synagogue located in Southern Palm Beach County Florida, is looking for an energetic, well, organized, detail oriented Development/Membership Coordinator. This individual should be accustomed to working in a fast paced environment. The right candidate will have strong planning, organizational skills, a positive attitude and collaborative approach. This position reports to the Director of Development. 





Position Responsibilities: 



Development: 

• Coordinate logistical details for Development Department, keeping track of contributions, inputting lists and data for fundraising events, tracking yearly goals and benchmarks, overseeing and managing the calendar for programs, meetings and events, and researching foundations and outside funding opportunities as well as prospective members. 



Membership: 

• With assistance from Development Director, develop effective strategies to recruit, engage and retain synagogue members. 

• Develop a system to better assist congregants with synagogue services. 

• Serve as volunteer liaison to identify and train potential committee leaders. 

• Meet with prospective members. 



Administrative: 

Provide administrative support for meetings, events, and other activities as needed such as preparing collateral materials, scheduling and coordinating logistics, and recording meeting minutes. Update lists and contact information. 



• Maintain correspondence, department budget and financial reports 

• Organize and prioritize large volumes of information, e-mails, faxes, and incoming and outgoing mail. 

• Schedule and organize activities such as meetings and programs including sending invitations, ordering food, keeping track of respondents, and follow up. 

• Handle clerical responsibilities such as typing, designing, and layout of general correspondence. 





Qualifications: 

• Bachelor degree or High school diploma and equivalent experience 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

• Well-developed organizational and time management skills 

• Dependable 

• Respect for and adherence to confidentiality 

• Well-developed customer service orientation 

• Strong attention to detail and follow-through 

• A self-starter, willing to take the initiative 

• A team player as well as able to work independently 

• Ability to work effectively under pressure 

• Pride and professionalism in work accomplishments 

• Microsoft Office Suite, Raiser’s Edge 



• Event planning experience including logistics and communications 

• Willingness to attend meetings and programs outside of standard working hours
