Would anyone know if there is a way to globally add PDFs to the media tab of a constituent record in Raiser's Edge?

    Sorry, but not possible.  It's a one-at-a-time process.



    One alternative is to look at MagicFolder plugin from Omatic.  It's FREE!  It uses a set of shared network directories to Actions, Appeals, Campaigns, Constituents, Events, Funds and Gifts. You can load up those folders quickly and easily with anything you want.  One warning is that it doesn't do a good job of keeping things linked if you merge Constituent records.

    Not that I know of...  But a word of caution, particularly if you plan on moving to RE:NXT...embed everything!  If you link media files, you'll keep your database size down, but when you move to Hosting, which is required for NXT, you'll have to embed everything because Hosted databases can't access linked files.  The Media piece of NXT has not been finished or released yet, but hopefully it will be really robust.  My boss, in particular, is looking forward to being able to access Media records while out in the field.  And I'm hoping it's an easier process to embed them.  :)



    BTW, we do 100% electronic filing in RE...gift paperwork, acknowledgement letters, grant proposals, correspondence, documentation, etc.
