Senior Accountant  Flexible PT hours



SUMMARY - The Skating Club of Boston, a 501(c)(3), is a founding member of U.S. Figure Skating and a primary center for high performance training and recreational skating in the United States. The position of Senior Accountant will report directly to the Club's Controller.



SENIOR ACCOUNTANT MAJOR AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

- Assist in managing and maintaining general ledger including monthly review/reconciliation of

general ledger accounts; preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries. Assist

Controller with the preparation of monthly financial reports. Insure proper classification and

accounting for gifts and monthly reconciliation of accounting records with Development gift

accounting.

- Ensure the proper reconciliation of all cash accounts.

- Coordinate with the data entry personnel, insuring proper entry of payables, receivables, and

credit card transactions.

- Design and prepare special reports for Controller and other management/leadership as needed.

- Maintain Fixed Asset Schedule.

- Monitor daily cash balances.

- Assist colleagues with finance related inquiries.

- Assist Controller with the analysis and preparation of all tax and compliance reports.

- Assist with providing Financial Edge and other training for Business Office staff.

- Other duties as assigned by the Controller.



COMMITMENT

Part time - initially 20 - 25 hours per week; opportunity for flexible schedule

Hourly, non-benefited position



QUALIFICATIONS

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting; 6 years' experience in accounting field, strong technical skills

High degree of proficiency in Blackbaud's Financial Edge accounting software

High degree of computer literacy, especially spreadsheets and databases

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Proven analytical skills and highly detail oriented

Accounting experience in a non-profit setting
