Position Type: Half-time (20 hours per week), non-exempt

Position Overview 

Responsible for the accurate recording and processing of all donor gifts, prepares requisite reports to ensure accuracy of information, analysis of fundraising and event attendance data, maximization of donor support, and leverage of fundraising activities. Also responsible for maintaining data integrity in Raiser’s Edge, as well as retrieval of data to use in the creation of reports, queries, and lists as directed.

  • Essential duties and responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
  • Recording all gifts and building installment schedules accurately; including Cash, Pledge, In-Kind, Stock/Property, Planned Giving, Matching Gifts, Reoccurring, and EFT using Batch within the Raiser’s Edge
  • Processing credit card donations as needed
  • Selecting, preparing, and sending appropriate individualized acknowledgement letters for all gifts based on predetermined criteria, as well as handwritten acknowledgements from Board President and thank you e-mails from the CEO when appropriate
  • Ensuring tax acknowledgement letters are accurate and complete for donors and mailed out within 24 to 48 hours from receipt of gift
  • Integrating the Capital Campaign Access Database into Raiser’s Edge
  • Providing support for endowments and bequests
  • Providing support at charitable events for the Advancement Department as needed
  • Responding efficiently to calls from donors, volunteers, and staff, in a professional and friendly manner
  • Completing data enrichment projects as required
  • Organizing and maintaining development records, office files, and other materials
  • Performing donor and prospect research on individuals, corporations, and foundations
  • Maintaining and performing record and date cleanup/updates in Raiser’s Edge to ensure consistency and integrity

Position Requirements

  • Experience working within a donor database
  • Non-profit experience
  • Extremely high level of detail-oriented accuracy
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision
  • Experience working in a database, preferably Raiser’s Edge
  • Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor and demonstrate credibility, integrity, and confidentiality
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Strong computer skills including the ability to create mail merges and spreadsheets with basic formulas
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow directions, policies and procedures
  • Ability to apply common sense and critical thinking to carry out instructions and make decisions within scope of authority
  • Good spelling, grammar, written, telephone and oral communication skills
  • Ability to problem-solve complex situations
  • Previous experience in the non-profit development arena
