MANAGER OF RECORDS AND DATA

 The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum is searching for a Manager of Records and Data. Reporting to the Director of Institutional Advancement (IA) and collaborating with staff members across multiple departments, this professional member of the IA staff is responsible for the institution’s constituent database, presently Raiser’s Edge, soon to be Tessitura.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Ensure and maintain the highest standards of data integrity for organization’s constituent database
  • Lead strategy for analyzing data segmentation of database and other systems of the organization (including Bronto and Patron Edge) in support of priorities and goals of the organization
  • Assume leadership of developing reporting processes and streamlining reporting functions and accuracy in support of fundraising
  • Serve as liaison to Technology staff and external consultants in upcoming conversion from Raiser’s Edge to Tessitura
  • Track and analyze progress toward benchmarks and goals and report at weekly department meetings
  • Implement a training program for end users across Museum departments
  • Develop and maintain a policy and procedures guide for database operations, including documentation of all data entry, standard reports, queries, exports, etc.
  • Work with Finance and Technology departments to ensure that fundraising database business processes comply with established procedures and reconcile with database monthly Finance department income reports
  • Work closely with IT to coordinate maintenance, data uploads and to troubleshoot problems with the data and/or the database product
  • Perform other duties as required by management
 

The ideal candidate will have a BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience; and a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a fundraising department. Experience with donor information system required, Tessitura experience preferred. Proficiency in data analytics, data extracts and presentation of summarized information. Experience working with SQL, Microsoft Reporting Services, Business Objects, Crystal Reports, or other report-writing tools a must. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and advanced proficiency in MS Excel. Experience with Import-O-Matic a plus. This candidate will have the ability to liaise with a variety of technical and operational personnel; strong analytical and data modeling skills, an inquisitive nature and a track record of creative problem solving. The ideal candidate will have a results and service-oriented attitude with special attention to responding timely with accuracy and precision. This person should be able to work independently, as well as in a fast paced, collaborative team environment. Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and other overtime as necessary.
