options grayed out in Crystal Reports

I am new to using Crystal Reports for Blackbaud (we have v.8.5) but I've noticed some of the menu selections/icons are grayed out.  Is that because this is really not a fully functional version of Crystal Reports?

Blackbaud doesn't support the majority of the options in Crystal 8.5 so that could be why they are grayed out.

Do you have a report open,or is this just from the start page?

On the start page the options would be greyed out.

I have a report open.  Another post by Patricia Laros indicated they're greyed out because BB doesn't support all the options in Crystal.
