The Pingry School’s Advancement Team is responsible for the outreach to the school’s internal and external constituencies.  Through  community outreach, relationship building and general awareness activities, the department motivates Pingry’s constituencies and the  community at large to financially support the school.  By obtaining the financial resources required by The Pingry School to carry  out its educational objectives, the department plays a vital role in contributing to the overall  education and personal development of  Pingry students and maintaining Pingry’s place as an outstanding educational institution.

 

The  Director of Advancement Services is responsible for the overall management and support of the Advancement Services area. This is a twelve month position reporting to the Director of Institutional Advancement.

 

Specific Responsibilities:
  1. Manage the development and alumni information system (The Raiser’s Edge) and its integration with ancillary systems (eg. NetCommunity Spark, FinalSite, EverTrue) and ensure the proper servicing  and maintenance of all software that serves institutional advancement  
  2. Function as liaison between Institutional Advancement and Information   Technology department
  3. Conduct  training  of  department  staff  members  on  database  functions  required  for  each  specific  position
  4. Create  and  maintain  a  policy  and  procedure  guide  for  the  Advancement Services team
  5. Supervise  Associate  Director  of  Advancement  Services  and  Advancement  Services  Associate  and  oversee  the  accurate  maintenance  of  gift  and  constituent  records
  6. Oversee  and  maintain  all  data  entry,  gift  processing,  acknowledgement,  and  pledge  reminder  systems in  accordance  with  IRS  regulations
  7. Work  with  the  Controller’s  Office  to  share  data  and  reports  on  fund accounting  and  serve  as  primary  resource/contact  for  institutional  auditors
  8. Interface  with  donors,  brokerage  firm,  and  Controller’s  office  to  process  all stock  gifts
  9. Oversee  production  of  gift  and  pledge  reports  and  other  information  to  the  Business  Office  as  needed
  10. Prepare  and  submit  all  advancement  industry  surveys  such  as  VSE  and JRPO/INDEX  
  11. Provide  a  wide  array  of  complex  and  intricate  analytical  reports  in  support  of  campaign,  annual  fund,  and other  purposes  as  needed
  12. With  the  Director  of  Major  and Planned  Gifts  and  the  Director  of  Donor Relations,  maintain  protocol  for  prospect  management  and  tracking  in  The Raiser’s  Edge
  13. With the Director of  Donor Relations, develop and implement protocol for all stewardship tracking and reporting in The Raiser’s Edge
  14. With Associate  Director of Advancement Services, develop any additional reports required to support fundraising goals
  15. Prepare all donor lists for the Annual Report
  16. Perform other duties as requested, delegated, or assigned
 

Qualifications and Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's  degree  required
  2. A  minimum of three years of related advancement services experience in non-profits preferred
  3. Excellent communication, listening and interpersonal  skills, strategic thinking capabilities, well-­‐refined organizational  skills, ability to meet deadlines, initiative, creative energy and a sense of humor
  4. Strong analytical ability a must
  5. Short and long-­‐term planning skills necessary
  6. Strong  background in computer technology and familiarity with  Blackbaud products preferred
  7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team  
  8. Clear  understanding of the mission, values, organization  and  traditions of  an independent school
