Episcopal School of Baton Rouge (Louisiana) is currently seeking a full-time Development Database Coordinator. Responsibilities include maintaining the Development Office database system, Raiser’s Edge. Maintenance of this database includes implementing quality control procedures that ensure accuracy, consistency and integrity of the data. In addition to maintaining data, this position assists with all related correspondence, tracking and data requests that need to be generated.



The Database Coordinator position includes providing exceptional oversight and management of the donor database and excellent customer service.  The Coordinator oversees the daily operation of the Raiser’s Edge system and is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the database, including data input and output, technology management, and training and support.  This position will provide support to all development staff with the creation of reports, developing and implementing best practices to guide data entry, and making sure that the database effectively captures subscriber and donor information and generates accurate financial and analytical reports.  The Coordinator will oversee gift entry, gift acknowledgement, handles donor inquiries, and assists with mailings and other donor correspondence.  Additional tasks will include the updating of mailing addresses and other changes, adding new accounts, merging duplicate accounts and ensuring clean data; establishing and maintaining a structure within the database to effectively identify specific segments of data for analysis and targeted marketing efforts; optimize the use of the database across the organization by staying current on upcoming enhancements to functionality and guiding staff in the appropriate use of existing functionality; work to reconcile pledges and pledge payments, and support efforts for year-end appeals and communication of tax receipt information to donors.  The Coordinator will ensure compliance of best practices for data entry and develop additional best practices, as needed.  The ideal individual will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative, and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities. The Coordinator will have some responsibility for reception and customer service, along with some supply inventory management.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in data management, fund development, business management and/or related fields in a school or nonprofit organization.  Ease with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint); an adventuresome spirit regarding technology.  Ability to create and produce queries, lists and reports, which consolidate key data. Experience with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge software is desirable.



Ability to manage multiple projects, handle interruptions, maintain focus on tasks and produce accurate work with strong attention to detail. Possess exceptional time management skills and ability to work under deadlines and respond to changing priorities. Ability to analyze and reach objective conclusions, while anticipating next steps in a process.
