About the Organization:

For over a century, The Jewish Federation of Cleveland has been raising funds and creating innovative and effective programs to address social, health and educational issues in Cleveland, Israel and worldwide.  The Federation serves the needs of more than 80,000 people living in the local Jewish and Greater Cleveland Communities as well as providing unwavering support for our local, national, and international partner agencies in more than 70 countries worldwide.

As one of the largest grant makers in Ohio, JFC made over 7,000 grants totaling over $150 million to Jewish and general causes in the past year.  We are helping make our community stronger.  We are the voice of the community collective, navigating the present and future needs of our local and global Jewish world with our community, for our community.  Over 1,000 Cleveland volunteers help lead decision-making about our local and global community’s welfare.  They are our lay leaders and they are active in guiding our community’s direction.

The Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s Jack, Joseph, and Morton Mandel Building, built in 2010, features state-of-the-art facilities designed and constructed using a sustainable model.  It has been awarded Gold certification under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) green building rating system. From our water fixtures to our solar panels, our building was designed with the environment in mind.  Our goal is to be zero-landfill, and so we recycle and compost all of our waste.  If you like to bike to work, we offer special secure indoor bike parking – we even have front-row spots for our carpooling employees!  Helping make the world a better place is part of our culture.

We believe in the mission of our work.  We believe that together, we are able to accomplish something life-changing, both for ourselves and for those around us.  We work as a team.  And those who join our team, become part of one of the most respected and valued Jewish organizations in the country.
