  • Yes, we have used both the Event App and the MobilePay card readers with great success.  Both have been easy to use and teach new people on the fly at our events where the volunteers are always different.  We have actually purchased four additional MobilePay card readers.
  • That's great, Lynn. Thank you!

Do you have any hints as to your success?  We tried MobilePay at a recent event, but to no avail.  (Declined every credit card!)  Maybe type of phone makes a difference?  Tricks to setting up?
  • Hi, we used mobile pay when it first came out (see attached Blackbaud interview) and continue to use both Mobile pay and the Event app at almost every event we hold (2 major events-800 people and 2 smaller events-200 people)  Other than WIFI problems, we love the app and having up to the minute attendance totals. Never had problems with Mobilepay and the convenience is just so efficient!!  Good luck!
  • We have run up against the iPad app for Events limit on the Registration list of 500 registrants.   Has anyone else had that problem when they are scrolling and registrants at the end of the alphabet are not listed?  And if so, what are your procedures?

We are also finding that at registration it takes a long time to search for those not listed on the app.

For smaller (less than 500) events it works great.
  • That's good to know about the number of registrants. Are you able to type in the name to search for the registrants or do you have to scroll through? Scrolling through participants in the events module can be pretty slow. We have been using the mobile readers from Blackbaud and they work great. We were using Square Up.

We are using MobilePay on the iPad.  However we found that depending on the venue there may be WIFI issues, too.  For me it caused a delay in the approval process after I swiped the card, thus causing the purchaser to have to wait a bit, which is an inconvenience to them.  Lucikly, we had 3 others who were taking charges.  Otherwise, it is really simple to use... and simplifies the charging process.

Hi Lynn, we just purchased the MobilePay readers for an upcoming event. How are you importing the transactions into RE?

@Sheila Walker - My guess is that Lynn either entered the transactions manually or imported them through a third party tool like Importacular or ImportOmatic.
