The Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) is a global health organization committed to strengthening integrated health systems in the developing world and expanding access to preventative health interventions such as Tuberculosis (TB), as well as care and treatment for HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases. Based on the premise that business-oriented strategies can facilitate solutions to global health challenges, CHAI acts as a catalyst to mobilize new resources and optimize the impact of these resources to save lives, via improved organization of COMMODITY MARKETS and more effective national and sub-national level management.

 

Currently, CHAI partners with governments in more than 25 countries, while more than 70 countries directly benefit from the low-priced drugs, diagnostic tests, and vaccines agreements that CHAI has negotiated. The Analyst role will support CHAI’s India TB Diagnostic initiative, which aims to provide quality diagnostic tests to private sector at affordable prices. We are seeking an individual with outstanding credentials, analytical ability, and strong communication skills. The Contractor must be able to function independently and flexibly and have a strong commitment to excellence. Support CHAI TB Diagnostics team in the monitoring and evaluation of operations under the TB Diagnostics program with a focus on the below activities:

  • Conduct analyses of the data that regularly flow in from the current activities and surveys, and, determine the gaps that need to be addressed.
  • Design and pilot follow up surveys. Should be comfortable organizing paper surveys and mobile phone based surveys. Should have prior experience in design, execution and mobilization of surveys.
  • Support identification of partner organizations and areas of collaboration in order to effectively carry out implementation activities.
  • Support monitoring of project by assisting in preparation of periodic reports for internal and external evaluation under short deadlines.
  • Engage with the CHAI Analytics team on the survey and monitoring data analysis and facilitate accurate data results generation.
  • Assist in qualitative research for monitoring and evaluation.
  • Support any other additional activities as necessitated by the project operations.
 

Travel to a few states in India will be required as a part of this role, which will involve conducting a scoping exercise through field visits, interviews with various stakeholders, pilots and monitoring of the evaluation studies etc.

 

Minimum Qualifications-

  • Minimum Bachelors degree in Economics, Statistics, Business or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years work experience.
  • Good analytical (qualitative and quantitative) and communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mind-set, including ability to work independently, self-motivate, and propose and implement new initiatives.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Knowledge of STATA or SPSS is an added advantage.
  • Ability to think strategically, handle ambiguity, and problem solve in a fast-paced, limited-structure, multicultural environment.
  • Willingness to travel if required and at short notice.
 

Preferred Qualifications-

  • Masters, or advanced degree in public health.
  • Experience working in research assistance, analyst or monitoring and evaluation.
  • Experience managing change in developing countries, and partnering with donors, branches of government, NGO’s or demonstrated experience in related areas.
