We have an exciting new full-time position based in our Boston office! The Development Services and Prospect Manager will manage all aspects of individual and corporate constituent research providing accurate analytical information. This role will be responsible for maintaining a steady pipeline of donor prospects.

 

The Development Services and Prospect Manager will identify and rank new prospects using internal and external data sources, prepare documentation, provide detailed briefings, and write and develop detailed profiles and research reports to enable the Fund Development team to cultivate, steward and solicit major gifts.  The Manager will also supervise the Development Database Coordinator. This position will report to the Chief Development Officer.

 

The qualified candidate will have Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of five years of documented experience in Fund Development with at least two years experience in prospect management and research. Experience using Raiser’s Edge and WealthEngine at high level of efficiency and effectiveness preferred, or similar experience using another fundraising database and screening tools is required. Other skills and qualifications include:
  • Management and supervisory experience with the ability to motivate and mentor staff
  • Experience/expertise in Crystal reporting
  • Expertise in prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship as well as moves management tracking
  • Mastery of, or interest in mastery of, internet search techniques, methodologies, tools and systems, as well as financial terminology and trends
  • Possess excellent time- and project management skills, and the ability to set priorities and handle multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment. Must be highly organized, able to shift priorities as needed, work well under the pressure of deadlines and be a motivated and enthusiastic self-starter
  • Ability to work effectively with peers, senior staff, volunteers, and the public, as well as part of a team
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing
  • High level of proficiency using Microsoft Windows and Office software. Strong internet and email communication skills required
  • Ability to appropriately handle confidential matters and information
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work, with careful attention to detail
  • Willingness to contribute to the overall success of the Council
