Position: National Walk Manager

Job Summary: The National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) is seeking an experienced full-time, National Walk Manager to work in the national headquarters located in Manhattan. NEDA is the nation’s most comprehensive organization supporting those affected by eating disorders, acting as a catalyst for early intervention, access to quality care, advocacy and ultimately a cure. The National Walk Manager will direct, maintain and expand the NEDA Walks program, which represents a substantial portion of the organizations’ budget. The National Walk Manager oversees 65 walks nationwide, with the help of staff, volunteers, network members and partners. This position reports directly to the Chief Development Officer.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and revise NEDA Walk program guidelines, materials, data tracking and trainings.
  • Assess the effectiveness of the NEDA Walks and implement improvements and modifications as necessary.
  • Assist in developing specific quantitative and qualitative goals to expand the program, increase fundraising and enhance the NEDA Walk experience for all involved.
  • Develop, plan, and adhere to program budget, based upon goals for each walk.
  • Monitor progress of NEDA Walk Program and assist walk coordinators in meeting financial goals.
  • Keep development team updated on progress of walks
  • Serve as a resource for walk coordinators, ensuring a clear understanding of walk goal and objectives, by supporting them throughout the process
  • Oversee walk program, including approval of walk speakers, sponsors and vendors
  • Focus on team component of walk structure, from the committees that organize and coordinate the events to the fundraising teams that fundraise on behalf of the event.
  • Collaborate with NEDA staff and develop enhanced corporate partners and vendor relationships
  • Carry out logistical needs of walks, including ordering t-shirts, scheduling social media blasts, sending out supplies, scheduling walk emails, and organizing frequent calls with coordinators to address all needs. Create strategy for walk trainings or webinars, including marketing & media support
  • Create new walk sites based on strategy and need.
  • Assist in the development and follow through of 3rd party events.
 

Requirements:

 
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Luminate/Blackbaud/Convio experience
  • Previous walk experience & Tech savvy
  • Great with people and willing team player
