Donor Database Analyst - House of Ruth Maryland

The Donor Database Analyst is responsible for day-to-day operation, system integrity, and data entry quality assurance for the agency’s fundraising database, Raiser’s Edge. The incumbent is responsible for updating and maintaining donor files, timely and accurate data entry, generation and reconciliation of revenue reports, design and production of queries and reports for unique purposes, and list pulls. The Donor Database Analyst uses and customizes standard templates, generating correspondence to donors to acknowledge gifts and respond to inquiries. The Donors Database Analyst plays a key role in supporting donor prospecting and identification of new funding opportunities for major gifts and planned giving, by conducting research, analyzing data and producing reports. The Donor Database Analyst also provides general support for the Development Department, including special events logistics and staffing, community outreach and other duties as assigned.

Duties:



o Maintain data processing systems to: receive, code, and correct donor data; eliminate and minimize duplication of records; import and export data, and archive and retrieve records. 

o On a daily basis, generate batches reflecting donations received, ensuring the accuracy of information in the batch and cross checking this information with individual donor records to identify information that needs to be corrected or updated. Verify the accuracy of batches prior to submission for review by supervisor. 

o Retrieve, analyze and synthesize information to create accurate and comprehensive reports and lists. Generate reports on private revenue raised, trends in giving, donor profiles.

o Run queries to generate lists for events, mailing appeals, newsletters and other types of donor contact activities.

o Conduct monthly/annual reconciliation procedures with the accounting department.

o Conduct research and analysis to identify strategies and targets for increases in private giving.

o Identify and share with appropriate Department colleagues information gleaned from donations that create opportunities for donor cultivation. 

o Ensure adherence to the stewardship policies of the department with a special emphasis on donor acknowledgments within 72 hours of the receipt of the gift. 

o Serve as primary point of contact for donors related to gifts and acknowledgements. Provide quality customer service from initiation to conclusion of constituent contact.

o Maintains up-to-date knowledge of HRM programs, activities, focus areas, strategic directions and financial situation.

o Assist with special events, such as Spring Luncheon, Crabaret, Man Up event, and Adopt A Family, on an as needed basis.

Qualifications: 



o Bachelor degree is highly preferred but will consider a combination of education and work experience in a non-profit organization.

o A minimum of 2 years of intermediate to advanced, hands-on experience in databases from performing data entry, creating ad hoc reports, templates, and query functions. Prior experience in Raiser’s Edge is preferred but will consider other fundraising database software experience.

o High proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook (required).

o Ability to manage multiple projects quickly, simultaneously and with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

o Strong organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills.

o Ability to use good judgment, set priorities, and adjust work habits to accommodate deadlines.

o Excellent persuasive writing and proofreading skills.

o Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

o Excellent interpersonal communication skills.

The salary range for this position begins in the $30s and is eligible for agency benefits.
