Team Lead - Online Services (Web Manager) - VCU in Richmond, VA

This position will supervise and coach web developers, establish project deadlines, delegate and assign department work to individuals as appropriate, and ensure that department standards for work output are met. This position will work closely with Communications, Annual Giving, Alumni and other units to execute online fundraising and engagement efforts.

General Responsibilities

• Develops and manages web-based solutions to support Development and Alumni Relations strategies for the engagement of Alumni, Donors, and other constituencies. 

• Work closely with the Development and Alumni Relation Communications to ensure consistency and alignment of web content with Institutional marketing strategies. 

• Responsible for administration of Blackbaud’s Internet Services (BBIS)

• Works with business unit leaders in planning, developing, implementing and supporting new or existing online and email strategies.

• Coordinates strategy and interfaces for email communications, web interfaces for online giving, event registration, online alumni community, online donor portal, online membership, mobile initiative and other online content.

• Works with business units to ensure online data capture is optimized withCRM

• Continually monitors industry best practices for modern online engagement strategies

• Works with business units to ensure tracking and analytics of online environment.




Qualifications



•Several years experience in website/database management and communications, including website development, layout and design.

• Several years of related experience in email marketing and communications, including email development, layout and design.

• Previous progressive experience working with CRMs (i.e. Blackbaud/Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics), database administration, and analytics.

• Experience with Blackbaud’s CRM and Blackbaud’s Internet Services (BBIS) is preferred. 

• Previous experience in a position with staff management responsibilities.

• Proven project management skills including the ability to manage multiple projects/campaigns simultaneously.

• Ability to thrive in a fast paced, entrepreneurial, high-energy environment that requires the ability to multi-task and implement high priority initiatives.

• Experience with HTMLCSS, JavaScript is required. 

• Knowledge of XML, jQuery, graphics along with SQL Server, IIS, Windows Server is preferred. 

• Experience creating and managing websites using CMS systems.

• Experience with mobile web development and mobile application strategies.

• Knowledge and understanding of fundraising and marketing techniques, concepts and channels.

• Able to quickly assess core business challenges and respond through the use of CRM strategy/tactics.

• High attention to detail and the ability to audit work for accuracy and quality.

• Ability to balance competing priorities, complex situations, and tight deadlines

• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment as well as independently with self-direction

• High degree of initiative and independent judgment

• Detail and results-oriented with excellent follow through

• Well-developed analytical and problem solving skills

• Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or a related field or a demonstrated equivalent experience.
