The Academic Planning and Instruction Division is currently seeking a Instructional Planning Analyst. The person in this role prepares high-level statistical and analytical summaries of course evaluation data. Provides comprehensive programmatic and analytical support for Academic Planning & Instruction (API) as well as the Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE).



The purpose of this role is to perform analytical studies on a variety of policies, projects, programs and issues in support of the teaching mission at Haas. Researches new or changing systems and programs. Assists in policy and program planning, development and administration; interprets, monitors and analyzes information regarding policies and procedures and provides consultative services regarding general management to department administrators.



This is a full time Career appointment.



Responsibilities:



The Instructional Planning Analyst will:



• Prepare high-level statistical and analytical summaries of course evaluation data for use by teaching faculty for self-improvement.

• Prepare high-level statistical and analytical summaries of course evaluation data for senior management for decisions on salary, promotion, tenure, retention, and curricular planning.

• Develop and Prepare a "qualitative analysis" for instructor feedback reports as needed. Supplements quantitative evaluation results with aggregated qualitative data from student comments.

• Prepare quarterly and annual reports summarizing school wide averages and statistical trends.

• Prepare requested analyses and reports relevant to CTE.

• Serve as a liaison for API and CTE with campus entities.

• Develop methods and techniques for improved information reporting and distribution.

• Re-design existing reports and data collection methods to reflect best practices.

• Coordinate efforts with Haas Computing Services for implementation of new technologies and system improvements.

• Develop relationships with key staff and faculty that may lead to new program development.

• Develop and participate in staff development, including working on special programs as assigned, attending classes which will enhance expertise in job areas, serve on departmental and campus-wide committees as appropriate, and participate in activities that enhance the campus community and/or larger community to further University service.



Qualifications:



• Bachelor degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience/training.

• Minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in a similar role/field.

• Working knowledge of databases and relevant software and systems to manage data.

• Solid communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, both verbally and in writing.

• Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.

• Ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.

• Working skills to analyze information and synthesize large amounts of data with strong attention to detail.

• Ability to seek and gather various forms of information on a complex topic, organize the information in a rational and understandable manner, identify critical points of concern or impact, and devise solutions to achieve a desired outcome

• Demonstrated ability and experience at examining, documenting, and redesigning work processes in a very complex business environment.

• Ability to track successfully multiple items to their conclusion while adhering to deadlines.

• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
