Blake has recently set the course for its most ambitious comprehensive campaign in school history. This position requires a candidate who is eager to learn, is highly self-motivated and who has a "can-do" approach to the job. This position directly supports the work of the Chief Advancement Officer and the Director of Individual Giving. This job provides a great opportunity to learn and grow in the fields of fundraising, donor relations, and parent and alumni relations. Strong and thoughtful communications skills both verbal and written are a must. This is a human relationships driven business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate campaign prospect and strategy meetings and all details related to these meetings
  • Work closely with the Assistant to the Head of School to ensure HOS calendar is up-to-date with campaign related meetings and needed materials
  • Write, edit, and produce (including print, stuff, mail) campaign-related materials including: volunteer packets, case statement, PowerPoint presentations, acknowledgments and thank you cards
  • Work collaboratively with prospect researcher to pull lists from Raisers Edge database for mail, email, and prospect review when appropriate
  • Assist events coordinator in all campaign-related events including: print, label, and send out invitations; receive and enter RSVPs; print nametags
  • Coordinate campaign-related travel (inc. flight, hotel, car, restaurant reservation, etc.)
  • Support campaign volunteers by providing needed materials, helping to track and record solicitation information and ensuring proper follow up
  • Build effective relationships with faculty and staff; demonstrate interest in and support for the school’s mission by being an active member of the school community and attend a range of school activities and events during and after the school day as appropriate
  • Answer phone and greet guests for Chief Advancement Officer and Director of Individual Giving when appropriate
  • Other duties as needed

Experience and Skills:

Education/Experience/Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a mission-driven, fast-paced, complex, team-oriented department
  • Willingness to acquire new skills and take on new projects
  • Ability to use anticipatory judgment to prioritize and organize tasks and display attention to detail, accuracy, and appropriate thoroughness
  • Ability to manage concurrent projects, set priorities, and follow through on both long-term and short-term projects, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and display independent judgment while taking initiative
  • Strong computer skills, including social media, blogs, twitter, and MS Office tools, particularly Excel and Word

 

Education/Experience/Skills Required Preferred:

  • Familiarity with Independent Schools
  • Familiarity with Raiser’s Edge database system
