Survey Tracking

We recently sent out a survey to our donors and I need to track the questions & responses. I was going to use the Action Attribute area with a table in the description field to track the questions & put the answers in the comments field. However the comment field is restricted to 60 characters.

Has anyone done surveys & tracked questions & responses? We also have the prospect module which I am looking at using.

It depends on what information you are collecting, could we have some examples?  Certainly if there is already a field for the information you are collecting (gender, age, education, etc.) then use the fields already available.

We are tracking the actual questions & answers to use the information for future - example if the donor wants to give us a story, or age range. I've set this up for testing in the Prospect tab under rating using the survey as a rating and a table for the questions.

I have run into a similar situation with populating the Comment field in an attribute - which is when I learned that the Description field can hold 255 characters (if the Attribute is a Text field) - where as the Comment Field is limited.

AS long as you aren't collecting long anecdotal stories from people - you could populate the Description field with their responses.

OR - if you can track the responses in a Note - you could capture very long strings of information.
