JOB TITLE:                          Development Information Specialist

DEPARTMENT:                    DO - Development

REPORT TO:                       Development Officer

MAJOR DUITES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:          

  • Maintain integrity of development data including that in Raiser's Edge and other electronic paper information systems used for storing and accessing prospect and donor information.
  • Develop and continuously improve reports and data visualizations to assess program results, inform fundraising strategy, track development officer activity, and develop recommendations for portfolio optimization.  Assist in designing audits and lead clean-up projects to manage integrity of prospect management data.
  • Conduct primary and secondary research on best practices and trends in fundraising data management and reports, and continue to enhance skills and knowledge by taking courses and webinars and attending professional conferences.
  • Participate in special projects in support of Development efforts, including but not limited to devising processes and procedures for data entry and management and streamlining existing practices acknowledgement and stewardship.  Assist with donor events and staff selected events as needed.
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality in all matters relating to the Institute's Development and Public Affairs program, the Board of Trustees, and all matters requiring sensitivity and discretion.  Keep informed about Institute programs and the activities of the Development and Public Affairs offices.

MINIMUM AND PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prior experience in or knowledge of fundraising and accounting functions preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of Raiser's Edge or similar CRM/fundraising relationship management system and competency with MS Office products, including intermediate to advanced Excel skills required.
  • Familiarity with Crystal Reports preferred.
  • Solid organizational and collaboration skills, both verbal and written, including knowledge of correct spelling, grammar and punctuation required.
  • Ability to proactively solve problems and demonstrate good judgment.
