How to handle "pass through" estate gift

Options

We received a gift written on the checking account of a lawyer, but we know the gift is from the estate of one of our constituents.  How should this be handled by us?  Our rule of thumb is that the receipt goes to the name on the check, but this seems different?

Does the check state that it's constituent trust/estate or anything?  Our rule of thumb is the same.  I'm not sure exactly what qualifies some one as another persons legal agent, but perhaps that's the case here.

Can you call the lawyer and ask?  If you confirm that it is from the constituent, what about receipting to "Constituent Estate, c/o Lawyer Name, address...."?
