Exporting to excel, blank file

Options

For the past two days any query I try to export to excel gives me a blank file, sometimes I also get a message asking if excel is installed on my computer, and it clearly is.

Any thoughts??? I have a 19,000 piece mailer that needs out by the end of the day.

Wish I had the answer for you.  I've exported several queries and got error messages that data has been lost - haven't been able to figure out what.

It would be extra work but have you tried taking your query to the Export function (not just the export icon when in query) and pulling you data that way.  Just a thought I had.

I would certainly call/chat with support so you can get your mailer done.

Try these alternatives. They may work and/or the results may help Blackbaud support diagnose your problem. 1. Instead of Excel use the comma separated value or text formats 2. Use the Export module and see if the Excel format works there. If not, try csv or txt.

Thank you for the advice. CSV format ran it up to line 14760 and then said disk full, and text format didn't even attempt, just said disk full. Export module did same thing. I have contacted Blackbaud.

    Thanks again.
