Catholic Medical Center Healthcare System, located in Manchester, NH is now hiring a Development Officer: Annual Giving/Donor Stewardship. POSITION SUMMARY: The Development Officer will work as a member of the Development staff to assist in the short and long-term planning and implementation of the CMC Annual Giving program including the creation, coordination and implementation of the CMC Presidents Society, community fundraising events and direct mail programs. This position manages relationships with prospective donors and is expected to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward these donors in support of hospital wide priorities. Monitors all prospects to ensure positive and purposeful contacts and donor relations. Candidate must be an energetic, creative and outgoing professional with a track record of building relationships with donors or customers and must have demonstrated ability to close significant gifts or sales. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the direct supervision of the Director of Development, and within established departmental policies and procedures, the incumbent performs the following functions: 1. Coordinate and implement comprehensive solicitation strategies to attain a goal of $300,000 in the CMC Annual Giving program through the solicitation of CMC Board Members, Physicians, Staff, and Grateful Patients and Community Events. 2. Work with Patient Relations, Marketing, Physicians and Nurses to identify Grateful Patients and to develop them as donor prospects. 3. Organize new community based fundraising events, and donor cultivation events. Become engaged in the community network. 4. Draft content and manage philanthropic communications through printed materials and social media in order to enhance stewardship with existing donors and educate prospective donors. 5. Enhance the existing CMC President's Society program by creating additional donor stewardship opportunities and assist in donor retention. 6. Create and implement Direct Mail or email fundraising campaigns and timelines based on hospital marketing initiatives. 7. Ability to identify and cultivate gift prospects in all areas of fundraising. 8. Assists with the identification and research of prospective donors. 9. Participates in the strategic planning process for the department to maximize the opportunities for charitable giving. 10. Become an active member of the community by networking at community events and activities. 11. Keep current and be able to convey information about the highlights and initiatives at Catholic Medical Center. 12. Attends staff and committee meetings. Represents CMC and the Resource Development department in selected community affairs. 13. Develops strong communication with donors, executive and management staff, medical staff, Board of Trustees and Directors, employees and community leaders. 14. Performs similar or related duties as required or assigned. Proven success in securing gifts in a medical and/or academic environment is required. 2. Ability to manage multiple projects at one time. 3. Experience at successfully setting and attaining fundraising goals. 4. Knowledge of donor relation communications. 5. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, analytical and written communication skills. 6. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups within and outside of the organization. 7. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently. 8. Ability to develop rapport with a wide variety of community leaders and organizations. 9. Ability to maintain good communications; establishes and maintains positive working relationships with employees, Board members, medical staff and the general public. 10. Ability to endure periods of heavy workload or stress. 11. Ability to operate office equipment including but not limited to: computer terminal, copier and fax machine. 12. Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to life, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. 13. Ability to transport self to and from off site locations. 14. Ability to use software such as Raiser's Edge, Microsoft Word for Windows and database management such as Microsoft Excel. WORK SCHEDULE:
