Position Overview

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Class Secretary & Agent Program:

  • Manage and solicit in-person all class secretaries & agents (approximately 100 annually);
  • Manage all outreach and communications to current class secretaries & agents, while also recruiting new volunteers herein as needed;
  • Set program goals, manage the volunteer management database (Agent Sphere) and track progress by class and by volunteer;

 

Reunion Support

  • Manage all reunion fundraising efforts for non-milestone years annually, including committee recruitment, establishment of scales of gifts to achieve reunion giving goals, managing class mailings and partnering closely with the Director of Alumni Relations on calls and planning as necessary for Reunion annually;

 

Volunteer Engagement

  • Organize and manage the Alumni Association's National Hill Fund Committee and synch this process with Reunion and overall Hill Fund class secretary/class agent fundraising;
  • Partner with the Director of Alumni Relations on strategic priorities for volunteer programming, recruitment and engagement;
  • Manage a pool of annual fund prospects for visitation and solicitation annually - in total, approximately 150 volunteers will require personal visitation and solicitation.

 

Successful Candidates

The successful candidate is a goal-oriented, strategic, creative, and innovative thinker who demonstrates strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with high energy and possesses a sense of humor and positive attitude. The candidate must have strong organizational and analytical abilities; be able to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet a myriad of deadlines; and possess a strong sense of personal and professional integrity with the ability to exercise authority and accept responsibility.

 

In addition, the Assistant Director must be able to work independently, while consulting with his or her supervisor on a consistent basis; must demonstrate capacity to make sound recommendations in a fluid environment; be willing and able to work with, and cooperate with, staff at all levels and as an integral part of the entire Hill School team. The candidate must be able to exercise tact and diplomacy; work with tight deadlines; and produce first-rate, highly accurate work, with meticulous attention to detail.  The successful candidate is able to use sophisticated Advancement databases and report writing software to retrieve data, and perform comprehensive analysis and data manipulation related to all aspects of The Hill Fund program. 

 

Finally, this position requires frequent, monthly U.S. travel and involves some night/evening event duties from September through June, annually.

 

The Hill School offers a competitive salary and excellent benefits package. Preference will be given to those who have been fundraising professionals in college, university, or secondary school settings; advanced degree or CFRE credential favored. Database management experience (specifically Raiser's Edge) preferred. Salary range starts at $45,000.
