Proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Must be able to analyze and interpret complex financial data and reports, perform financial statement analysis, and communicate effectively. Knowledge of state and federal regulations and laws applicable to non-profit organizations. Must have strong organizational skills. Experience in non-profit organization a plus. Activity1. Reviews and reconciles investment accounts ($72 million), including long-term endowment pool, planned gifts portfolio and short-term investment pool. Ensures accurate monthly allocation of investment activity to the project level for the underlying funds comprising the long-term [450+ projects] and short-term pools [450+ projects]. Creates and maintains asset allocation pools and processes monthly revenue and cost allocations. Activity2. Provides information and technical assistance regarding more than 450 individual endowment funds to include preparation of annual donor financial reports, preparation /distribution of spending allocation budgets to deans and campus administrators, and prepares annual Foundation scholarship budget for Financial Aid/campus. Works closely with Financial Aid, Stewardship and department liaisons with the scholarship awarding processes and continued budget management. Collaborates with Stewardship and Gift Officers in creating new gift agreements to ensure donor intent with the use of funds.Essential or MarginalEssentialPercent of Time25

 

Activity3. Monitors cash balances to ensure sufficient funds are available for operating requirements and advises Director of Financial Services when excess funds and/or new gifts are available for investment and recommends where to place funds. Assists with processing asset transfers to the investment pools. Monitors brokerage account to ensure stock gifts are processed in a timely manner and works with the School of Business director of student managed program to ensure trades are made in a timely manner.Essential or MarginalEssentialPercent of Time10

 

Activity4. Assists the Director and Assistant Director with month-end general ledger closing including keying and posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, researching discrepancies and analyzing results. Works closely with Gift Administrator in Advancement Services to reconcile gift revenue from Raiser's Edge to Financial Edge, including weekly deposits and credit card transactions. Collaborates with Advancement Services to create any reporting needs that arise. Provides regular review and monitoring of transactions affecting endowments or temporarily restricted funds and prepares any associated general ledger entries required.Essential or MarginalEssentialPercent of Time15

 

Activity5. Provides support to the Director of Financial Services in reporting to the Foundation Board Investment Committee on the investment assets of the organization. Prepares agendas, investment reports, minutes and serves as an operational liaison to the outsourced CIO firm to plan for and assist with quarterly meetings.Essential or MarginalEssentialPercent of Time10

 

Activity6. Researches and interprets federal and state regulation changes with regard to endowment/trust asset management. Recommends and implements recording/monitoring changes for financial transactions as necessary. Assesses new gift/ trust agreements, identifies appropriate FASB classification and revises financial information systems accordingly.
