Position:          Development Assistant

 

Reporting and following directives from the Executive Director and Management Staff of OMSF, assist OMSF staff and key volunteer leaders to implement OMSF annual gift fundraising efforts in support of OMSF research and education programs. Primary activities include assisting staff with marketing, communications and assuring the success of the annual campaigns and database integrity.

 

In concert with the Executive Director and staff, manage acknowledgement activities for annual fund donors as well as major and planned gift donors.

 

Key Responsibilities  

  • Utilize experience in Blackbaud (BB) Raiser's Edge database & BB Net Community Grow

  • Assist senior level staff/volunteers with annual, corporate and planned gift appeals  

  • Strong volunteer customer service and communications skills (preferably medical 501(c)(3)

  • Ability to assist Board, Executive Director and high level volunteers/committee members

  • Assist in development of print and electronic marketing and fund-raising materials 

  • Help ensure appropriate acknowledgement and recognition of all donors and volunteers

  • Create weekly/monthly and other reports on OMSF appeals

  • Be well organized and detail oriented

  • Assist with event planning for the Annual Meeting and Dental Implant

  • Serve as liaison for several OMSF Board committees

  • Other projects as assigned by senior staff

     

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equal employment experience

  • 3-5 years' experience in non-profit fundraising

  • Proficient in Blackbaud Raiser's Edge  

  • Computer software proficiency: Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite   

  • Must exhibit exceptional oral communication skills, telephone etiquette and people skills

  • Experience working with volunteer boards/committees preferred

  • Ability to interact effectively with persons at all ages and organizational levels

  • Must be highly self-directed, well organized, detail oriented and comfortable completing tasks with a minimum of supervision

  • Must be trustworthy with knowledge of confidential Foundation and donor information
